What to bring for Orientation?

Hey guys,

My orientation session is in a week (104), and I still don't know what to do?! I just got my BruinCard today and activated it. What do I do now? Also, what should I bring to orientation??? Please help me, guys, I'm such a procrastinator and have not a single clue!!! Thanks again!

Plan a sample schedule ahead of time so you have an idea of the classes you want to take, pen/pencil, backpack if you don't want to carry around papers they give you, laptop if you want to look at classes in your dorm (bring a ethernet cable) and don't want to wait to use the computers in the lab. Oh maybe a sweatshirt if you get cold at night (or just make sure to close all the windows and turn up the temperature on the ac/heater) =P

if you have a laptop bring it along with ethernet cable and a mouse lol bring a blanket because the one they gave you sucks... it gets really cold during the night especially when my roomates and I turned ac to 68 with windows open lol

how do i do the sample schedule?

you mean planning out your classes? just go to myucla, click on features, academic then class planner

no need to bring a backpack, they give you one. You should definitely bring a blanket. It's freezing at night, and the temperature doesn't go up that high.

Do we have to bring transcripts/test score results even if they've already been sent and received?

No10char

Laptop- Today is second day and the labs are packed. Both of my roommates are sharing my laptop to find classes.

Also sunglasses, you don't really need a blanket, I think mine is fine even with the windows open at night.

the biggest piece of advice on what to bring is:

comfortable walking shoes

aka flip flops

I second ckings86.
I remember doing the scavenger hunt barefoot because my shoes were so darn uncomfortable.
Bring something you can run in, if you guys are still doing the scavenger hunt this year.

k, thanks guys!
