What to bring to an interview?

I have my interview 2morrow and i have no idea what if i should bring a resume or not. I know it would be better if i did but i dont have one prepared yet and it probably wouldnt be very impressive. Also would jeans + a hoodie be adequate attire?

I think it’s fine if you don’t bring a resume…I didn’t and I think my Duke interview went okay. I would go with something a little more formal than jeans and hoodie. If you’re male, I would suggest a nice collared shirt with khakis. If you’re female, a sweater and dress pants should do. Good Luck!

No need to bring a resume. I agree with the above recommended attire. Jeans and a hoodie is not adequate. Some say nice jeans with a button down would be okay, but better to be on the safe side unless your interviewer specifies otherwise and wear khakis.

Bring a resume. Your interviewer may not want it, but it’s often helpful for the interviewer to be able to tell what your interests and extracurriculars are at-a-glance. Jeans and a hoodie (?) is definitely an not appropriate outfit. Dark, clean jeans and a button down or khakis and a button down would be suitable for a guy.

I always think an interviewee should bring a notebook to take notes on what the interviewer says. It shows interest, and also is important as an aide-memoire for writing the all-important, personalized thank you letter for the interview, referring to specific things discussed in the interview.
