what to bring to interview

what should you bring to an interview? a transcript, resume, notebook, etc.??

You don't usually bring anything to an interview; the interviewer isn't really supposed to ask you about grades and test scores; the purpose is more to get a sense of you as a person (and to give you a chance to ask questons about the school and get some sense of it).

I would think that you only need to bring yourself - and perhaps your resume... the rest (hs transcript, test scores, letters of recommendation, etc.) will be sent directly by your school. If you have a portfolio of artwork, etc., I would bring that, however.

That said, my son had gone on 3 interviews (all small LACs) and they had all given him a questionaire to fill out prior to the interview. On the form, he had to write down his GPA, standardized test scores, field of interest - and maybe a couple of other things - things that the person conducting the interview could refer to. From what I've experienced, the interview is a preliminary step meant to give the adcoms a feel for the student's personality, drive and interests.

A notebook would be useful so that you could jot down things during your interview... oh, and possibly have some questions prepared -once you're immersed in your interview, you may get sidetracked or forget what you wanted to know.
