What to Bring?

Besides the regular items listed in the information emory has given us on what we should bring when we move in, what else are you considering that might not be so obvious? Is there anything special that isn't listed that you think you would need for the next few months?

If you live in Atlanta, what difference will it make?

well i couldn't go back home and pick up things that i forgot since we cant have cars but that really wasnt the point of the thread. o well

I appreciate the question. It is certainly relevant for people who are out of state, like say, California.

Less obvious items that I am bringing:

USB data cables, ethernet cords, and various other plugs

XBOX, which doubles as a DVD player

Poker set

Sleeping bag

Favorite books and magazines

I highly recommend the following oft-forgotten, oft-coveted items (if possible):

-a comfortable chair (either to replace the desk chair Emory provides or for visitors to sit on so 1) you don't have to clean off your bed and 2) they don't have to sit on the floor)
-a bathing suit (the pool at the SAAC on Clairmont Campus is a hoppin' place during August and September)
-a Frisbee (to complete the college experience)
-dish soap and a sponge (you DO plan on washing your dishes, right?)
-an over-the-door storage rack (great place to keep small items rather than having them float around in a gigantic drawer)
-a friend with a bike. I have previously outlined why a bike is generally unneeded for main-campus residents. However, there are times you'll want to borrow one, either for a romantic bike ride through Lullwater or a frantic rampage to CVS to get some deodorant before said bike ride. So, learn who on your floor has a bike, and be kind to them.

A CAN OPENER.

amadani?
I think I saw you at the recent sunday emory event.

yeah i was at the "let's go emory" thing at the alumni house. that was interesting to meet alot of people. nice place. it was pretty much a mansion ha.
