i was admitted into sixth college for the upcoming fall and i know it's a little bit early but i'm compiling a list for stuff i should bring into my dorm room. i didn't go to admit day so i have no idea what the rooms look like and how big they are. what should i bring and what shouldn't i bring? thanks so much!

i'm guessing you haven't looked much at the housing / sixth college websites? there's actually some pretty helpful stuff there.

Sixth College: Personalizing Your Residence Hall Room or Apartment

my advice is to pack sparsely; whatever you find yourself lacking after the first few weeks (ie, when you've established that you can't live without said item and nobody around you has one or is willing to share), you can find it at target/ikea/costco or get it delivered.

i think most people buy way too much stuff at the beginning. i know i did this year.

Are you from NorCal, SoCal, or other? Depending on how frequently you're planning on going home, ONLY bring essentials and then go from there.

Your roommates may have a little or a lot of stuff at the beginning, and it's best to just find a way to figure out space issues with them.

sorry for late reply. i'm for san diego i acutally live like 20 minutes away from campus. but i'm not going to have my car

but your parents will.

if that's the case, then bring whatever you want -- at least moving it out of your dorm room won't be a hassle as it would be if you were from, say, norcal.
