What to choose?

I got into two summer programs; one at Loyola and one at Barnard, they both cost the same. I really want to go to the one at Barnard but they want a deposit in two weeks and this program cost alot and I will recieve no college credit for the classes I take. It's more so for the pre-college experience and teacher recomendations. And I think it would look good on an app to Columbia...right? The program at Loyola is for credits and I'm sure I could still get teacher recs, technically this program is cheaper.
BUT I also applied to Questbridge and I won't know anything until late April, after Barnard needs the deposit!

What should I do?

Well, it certainly won’t look bad. But it won’t make or break any application.

I think college credit is more worth the money. QuestBridge is, AFAIK, free, so that would probably be your first choice.

I would put down the deposit and if you get into questbridge go to that. You would lose money but it would still save money compared to the overall cost of the barnard program (I am assuming you only pay a small percent of the cost as a deposit)
