What to do about my major choice. HELP please!

I am really into the lastest technology and computers and kinda geeky stuff like that, but what I also really like is philosophy and some sort of marketing. I don't really know what I should do since I kinda have to only pick 1 major. I am going to be playing club soccer and hockey and probably lacrosse also so i mean i can't be spending all my time in classes and junk like that cuz i need to do that and also have a job. If i had to drop one of those i'd say it would probably be the marketing one cuz all i want to do with that is maybe get into advertising or something like that business type to make lots of money$. But i really like technology geeky stuff like i said and i am REALLY interested in philosophy. So someone help me out please. WHAT should I do????
Thanks.

Obviously the first thing technology/computers would lead to is engineering. But I think that requires more work than you would like and doesn't incorporate philosophy. An alternative would be a computer science major complimented by logic classes in the philosophy department. The workload shouldn't be too bad but I have a feeling that track would be a diluted form of both the major interests you mentioned. The problem is the lack of overlap between technology and philosophy. You could design your own major, but even then you'll still have to choose a focus in some area.

As for marketing, that would only be available at a business school, taking you away from the technology and philosophy that you said were higher on your list of priorities anyway. Another thing about marketing is there's not actually very much money in it, much less than technology. Unless you're really good at it, marketing is probably the riskiest business major as far as long-term financial security goes.

My advice is to think about the future and what kind of job you want to have, then choose your major accordingly. Most people don't get to study everything that interests them, it's just part of life.
