What to do about my SAT

Hey all, I recently scored a 1590 on the SAT, which I was very happy with. However, I checked my score on the essay and it was a 6/5/6. As you can see, my essay score is objectively worse than my main test score. The problem is, I would like to have a go at applying to the few colleges that require the essay, but I am not sure how much the essay affects admissions. Should I retake the SAT and try to get a better score on the essay? Should I leave it? How much does the essay affect admissions?

Thanks for all your opinions. In addition, I am not trying to sound snobby or whiny, I just want to know what you guys think so I can plan.

No. You obviously already have a great score. Your writing skills in your essays are more important than your essay score. Good luck.

Don’t waste the time on the retake. Look up the prompts and write great essays for the college applications instead. Check if you need any SAT2 scores for the schools/programs you want to apply.
