What to do ACT Superscore 33, Math 25, Top schools

Senior, no hooks, NE, GPA 3.8 UW, female not interested in STEM. Single sitting 31, Superscore 33

September 31 comp, E36, M29, R31, S27

October 31 comp E34, M25, R32, S33

This was my 3rd attempt and my spring 2016 scores were slightly lower than September., that math was a 28.

Not sure what to do with this. I am not bad in math currently taking AP Calculus and Physics not interested in STEM except possibly psychology. Being an English major is an option.

Obviously for all scores and superscore schools I will send. The question is for schools that do not require all scores and not super score the ACT does the 25 mean I should not try to submit the third test. Applied EA to a bunch of score choice schools so need to decide quickly. Looking at highly selective schools including a couple of ivies

Also for schools that say they only look at highest score even if you send all do they mean it

Yes. They have no reason to lie.

I would not. The September test looks better.

I agree that the Sep test is better, but you need to have a back up plan. You are not very likely to get into “top” schools with a 31. All your other stats are not Top college “material”, I am sorry to say. Just being honest and I hope you don’t take it the wrong way. By all means give it a shot if there is a particular school you have in mind.

Have a look at this thread. My D had similar stats to yours, but a higher test score, equivalent to a 33 or 34. You might have something to offer that my didn’t of course, but it’s worth understanding the reality.

Pay attention to post #6 on that thread.

Thanks. I Agree Erin’s Dad

My GC is saying that they she likes everyone to send everything although it’s not a school policy. She thinks places will ignore the 25. My mom’s friend who is a teacher thinks they may use it as a reason not to accept my application. Not sure who to listen to

Linda, it does superscore to a 33 composite. There are many schools that would automatically superscore on the computer.
I would send everything to those school.

This is not a chance me thread. I am asking whether or not in order to get the slightly better reading score 31 v 32 and much better science score 27 v 33 whether it is worth letting non superscore schools see my recent M25 If it were a 28 there would be no question that I would send it but 25 is outside the range of normal at the schools I am applying to

Sorry, yes, it is superscored to 33. And I know it isn’t a chance thread, but it is best to understand what you are up against. Forewarned is forearmed.

I did some research on school policies. I am amazed st how many elite LACs superscore. Makes me think their stats are not quite as high as they would have you believe.

Yet so many other schools just look at the composite ACT yet they superscore the SAT. Strange.

Thanks Endora. That is what I am asking. Still conflicted and could use some expert help.

Will the 25 in a basic subject hurt me even as the 33 S helps me?

I am considering retaking it but already applied EA to a reach that does not superscore. Not sure if worth taking again to try to get all scores on same test. Not sure which schools would be doing this to increase chances

Update

I have no idea if Cornell Superscores or not but was accepted ED! Have absolutely no hooks either.

Also accepted to almost every EA school I applied to including my state flagship, Clark and Case Western with merit money
