What to do after accepting a decision?

I was accepted into one of the schools that I applied to as a transfer and accepted the decision but I was wondering what the next steps were? More specifically, how do I let my current college know that I will not be attending this upcoming fall semester?

Any help would be great, thanks in advance!

  1. Take a deep breath and relax, seriously... Enjoy this achievement.
  2. Get your financial aid documents in order (if need be)
  3. Get your rooming arrangements in order (if need be)
  4. Get your classes together

As for letting your current college know you are leaving… Usually there’s a place to go. Most likely it will be in admissions. Go to admissions, let them know you’re withdrawing. You will have to sign papers. Also, if you’re dorming now you have to go to the director of residency (or whoever is in charge of those things) and again, sign some papers.

Make sure if you were using a school email, you forward your emails, and change your email if you used it for personal websites like FB.

Another thing… if you were receiving financial aid, you do have to electronically sign something as well. I think it’s called an Exit interview… I vaguely remember but it has the word “leave,” or “exit” in it. It might take a few months for that to appear though. Good luck!

@Anonymous1729 thanks so much for the help/ pep talk lmao! would you know what time would be good to do this? like before or after finals week?
