Is it expensive?

I bet you can find some laser printer that's not very expensive and does an excellent job :) Browse around.. hp.com.. or other websites that sell computer hardware :)

I had an all-in-one printer...paid $75 for it. If you can find a laser printer you're better off.

But how much does printing on campus cost though, since I will rarely be in my dorm, depending where I live.

Btw, do science majors do a lot of printing?

printing costs can be found here:
Printer Information

I did a lot of printing b/c I took a lot of writing intensive classes

hollister1 HOLLISTER Net-Print 1 HP LaserJet 4100 Series 3 cents B/W 600 One-sided

This one seems to be the cheapest. How do we know their locations?

I went all-out last summer and got a really nice HP OfficeJet 6310 all-in-one that was on sale at Costco. Honestly, I didn't use the color/copy functions that often, but the times I did, I was glad I had the option. Still, looking back, an OfficeJet seems like kind of an overkill, and I think getting a black-and-white LaserJet sounds like a prudent purchase. I swear by HP printers.

fri3nds04, just to clarify: we have to manually subscribe to both ResNet AND RedRover? And should we do this before move-in day?

Are scanners available for student use, for free?

@diehldun: I think we do have to subscribe them manually.. But I'm not sure.. when we have to do it.. :(

You can't subscribe until you are on campus. It's very simple to do.

I believe Uris has scanners available for free use

@dewdrop87: Can we use the ResNet and RedRover right after we subscribe or we have to wait?

You just have to restart your computer...but then you have immediate access!

Any info on meal plans. What's the best one to get?

I went with 10 meals a week...got dinner every day plus lunch on Friday and brunch on the weekends. I had plenty of BRBs for the semester.

What mealplan is that

Well...when I was on campus it was called Bear Traditional.

can u eat anywhere and around how much did it cost a semester? Also does cornell charge per meal or per item (basically is it a buffet style)?

Oh...I don't remember what the meal plan cost me...you can find that information online.

You have 10 meals...so that means you can go 10 times to the all you care to eat dining halls per week (thursday to thursday). Obviously, these are buffet style.

There a la carte facilities that you use your BRBs for...here you are charged per item.

But if you live on West Campus Housing System, you are required to sign up for the house meal plans.. So.. :) Prolly I'm going to sign up for House Choice..
