Now, after the decision, what should we do? Do I have to email CMU?

What specially are you asking? Have you received a notice saying that they sent your descision but you don’t know what it is? Or, do you questions about withdrawing other apps?

Submit your deposit by the due date, either by mail, fax or on the website they provide.
Look in your snail mail package-- there’s a form to sign and return, with deposit. It can be in check or by charge card.

Don’t miss the due date-- it will be interpreted as you aren’t coming- someone did that last year and posted here on CC that they screwed up-- thinking they had until May 1. NOPE-- ED has until December something…so make sure to return your intent to enroll form and deposit ASAP.

Then you literally just hang for months until all the RDs are accepted and more mailings arrive about housing, classes, etc…nothing for a few months.

But you can be the person to start the CMU 2015 FB page (the one there is actually a fake from U-Room Surf or other such bogus companies) …and you’ll see that other current students will join and start answering questions.

Congrats!

By the way, this has been mentioned before but housing order of preference is determined by the order in which people file their deposits. So the earlier you deposit, the more choice you have in where you want to live. This is especially good if you plan to live in, say, Mudge House or Morewood E, which are two of the more coveted housing areas.

hi, just want to correct the december deadline for ED reply. It’s actually Feb 1 2011 (at least so for intl applicants. but i dont think there is any difference)
