I have already signed up for Orientation Session 104. I was wondering do I have to do anything from now until orientation. For example, class selection. I was just wondering because a lot of people have been talking about choosing classes lately. Thanks!

well even though u dont need to actually choose your class before orientation, it is recommended. they will help you along the way so you wouldn't have to worry too much.

also u might want to apply for your bruin's card already; 5 weeks before orientation, but u can still do it during orientation (waiting in line)

well, emmeline posted a GREAT guide for class selection. and i wouldn't worry about a 4-year plan at ALL until you have one quarter under your belt and you're more familiar with the selection and process. and your major. so just focus on major requirements and GEs and whatever else for your first quarter, and then look into more long-term planning ;)

i still have no clue what to pick though!!!

one of my friends whos goin to USC told me that she had to sign up for like 10 classes in the semester because there are labs to everything, even writing (writing lecture, writing lab). ist the same for UCLA???? thanks for the help!

advice:
reread emmeline's guide, slowly and carefully. follow a couple of the steps in detail.
if after that you still have some more specific questions, come back and we'll see how we can help! :)

the guide is called UCLA 101 or something like that... I also have a question about orientation for freshmen, they said they provide pillow and sheets but should we bring like a blanket or sleeping bag or something...

on the orientation info page they said a couple things we need to bring but im still wondering if we need to bring anything else such as laptop, blanket, and lamp? or does the room already have lights?
