What to do for Boston University

Boston University is my dream school and I want to do whatever I can to maximize my chances of getting in. I would like to go to the School of Management. The following are my current credentials, please tell me what my chances would be and what to do to make my chances better.

-High School: Dr. Ronald E. McNair Academic High School(#1 in NJ)
-Grade: Sophomore(Only 1 week left though)
-Ethnicity: African American
-Current GPA-3.37
-Notable classes I have taken/will take-(All Classes are either AP or honors) AP English Lit, AP English Language, Afro Amer Lit, Global Communications, Web Design, AP Chinese, AP US, Financial Lit, AP US Gov, AP Econ Macro Micro, AP Bio
-Extra Curriculars: Varsity Basketball player, Girls volleyball manager, AV Club, Muslim Student Association, Chinese Culture Club, JROTC(freshman year)

GPA is a little low. Don’t worry, you have one year to increase it. At least, get a 3.5.

Take the SAT NOW> You are an under represented minority, so 1800+ should be fine or 27+ ACT.

Thanks, how about classes? Are there any classes to take in the future to look better?

I think that your current and future course load is pretty great. Rack up on the APs but take as many as you can handle. You may know people who take double digit APs during their high school career but for a school like BU, 5 APs should be fine. If you take more than you can handle you may potentially hurt your GPA. You should also make time for extracurriculars and for the SAT. Other than that I think that you’re fine and you’ve got a good chance because you’re a minority.

Thanks Xtreme Power and aznrobot9! Your feedback is greatly appreciated!

I also think your classes look good. Just try to get your GPA up a little and prepare as much as possible for the SAT.
Best of luck!
