what to do if not taking AP tests?

when i applied to Berkeley, i wrote that i would be taking the bio AP and physics AP exams, since I am taking both classes. however, i later decided that i wouldn't be taking the AP tests anymore (just a personal choice). am i supposed to contact admissions and let them know about this? i've already been accepted.

I think I said I would take ap gov, but ended up not taking it, and nothing happened, so i imagine its not a big deal if you dont take a few ap exams you said you would.

They don’t care about the AP tests, they only care about the difficulty of your class workload. If you say you will take an AP class, and you take the class, that is the important milestone. They will definitely not care about whether you choose to sit for the AP test. They are a bit disconnected - you can sit a test and get AP credit without having been in an AP class, and you can take an AP class, which is in some ways an “AP Prep” class, without ever seeking AP credit by the test.

As long as you took the same classes you listed, you are golden. The conditions of admission are 3.0 UW or higher per semester, no grade below a C, and no unexplained changes to the schedule you listed in your app. It says nothing about AP tests. Plenty of evidence this is so, with many, many incoming students that chose not to sit one or more of the AP exams with zero impact. All you lose is the AP credit itself the 2.7 or 5.4 units towards the degree minimum (e.g. 120) and the related advantages.

alright, thanks! very helpful info
