My D21 goes to a large public school and things tend to move very slowwwwly there. We’re starting to panic because despite asking for mid-term grades & reports a long time ago and then requesting again on 2/1, there still is no movement.
Other than emailing the school repeatedly to no avail, is it OK to have D21 send in her unofficial midterm transcripts to AOs and let them know things are sadly moving like molasses? Wasn’t sure if they would even consider that?
We only did ED and EA apps but I was monitoring this even after we got our ED decision. Some schools had an option to upload but many did not. I’ve checked the Common App and they haven’t been uploaded yet even though we got report cariweeks ago. I email the school just to inquire and received nothing back on several emails. Kinda sucks for kids with merit decisions in the works currently. With the ED app we actually uploaded the grades from the portal even before report cards came out. Certainly it can’t hurt and not sure it had any influence on our acceptance.
Thank you - Great idea about loading unofficial transcripts in. At least it’s something, which is more than her school is doing! lol
I’d be on the phone with them. E-mail is easy to ignore. If the GC doesn’t seem responsive, ask to be transferred to the Principal’s office. What you’re asking them to do is their job - literally getting paid to do it.
Thanks & emailing the administration is next. I feel like I’m walking on eggshells because I’ll also need this employee to send out the final grades in June. I’ve heard horror stories from other parents from years past, so it’s not like this is a new thing with them. It is my sincere wish that I could title my emails, “DO YOUR FREAKING JOB.” Trust me. Ugh…such a stressful place to be right now.
I think you can screenshot your grades and send them that way. At least the schools will have something until the official report is sent. It depends on the college but many just need a screenshot.
