What to do if you are deferred?

Deferral is better than a rejection but still not quite 'it'!

Glad the application is worth reconsidering but still I want to be able to figure out what could have kept me from getting in!

Anyone got any ideas? I don't want to sit around waiting for something to happen.

i wonder if you could call them and ask for the reason of deferral..

that's what i'll do if i get rejected in the regular action.. it'll increase the chance of transferring or getting in as a graduate student.

Any other opinions though?

I'm not convinced that I still really want to go to Harvard now that I'm deferred. I got into UNC-CH early, plus into the Honors program. I kind of want that big college atmosphere, plus I've been raised on Carolina basketball. Harvard gives me the advantage of being surrounded by brilliant people and the prestige of an Ivy Leage degree, but the honors program might do the same. I also applied to Yale, rd, so I guess I'll just wait till April 1 to make any decisions, but does anyone have any inspiration for me?

I would send an update of your accomplishments, and maybe an essay on why you want to go to Harvard. Anything else which would help the admissions officer would be fine. Good luck!

i'd say by applyin early v have already demonstrated interest, in any case isn't feb a lil too late??

Feb isn't too late. National reply date isn't until May 1.
