A high school senior weeks away from graduating was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct (for underage drinking at a private home). Her school was notified and she was given the option of expulsion or withdrawl.
How will this affect college in the fall? Can she retake classes in summer school and get her degree that way? Is she required to advise the college?
Any advice would be appreciated.

That she, uh, didn’t finish high school? Yea why wouldn’t she be required to notify the college? You have to still turn in a transcript how is she going to do that without being in high school and not finishing senior year.

That seems way too harsh. First of all, most schools will generally suspend you for underaged drinking, not expell you. Second, she wasn’t even on school property when she was drinking, so it shouldn’t even be within the school’s jurisdiction to take action.

Too much at stake - consult a lawyer, Today.
Being charged is one thing being convicted quite another…
Think there may be more to this -disorderly conduct is a very different charge from underage drinking.
Being stupid can keep you out of college, but if everyone who was stupid was kept out than the campuses would be very sparse indeed. If this was one stupid act than I would try very hard to keep it from ruining her life.
