If you are 24 years old you can apply for finanical aid as an independent student (you will not need any of your parents information).

However, keep in mind that most colleges in the U.S. are not need blind to international students, so if you document that your parents are not helping you with college and you have no money of your own this could work against you. the other side of the coin is that if you state your parent are helping you and they decide not to come through with the money you will have a short fall and won't be able to attend school because you won't be able to afford it.

so how do I fill in the forms? The International Student Financial Aid Application at collegeboards asks all about my parents
