Travel really interests me. I'm going to be living in Germany as a high school foreign exchange student for my junior year. I've been looking at curriculums for International Relations and I found myself wanting to take every one of those classes. The material is so interesting! I'm always thought doing something 'foreign' would be interesting. I used to want to be an ambassador haha. The Foreign Service is something I have considered.

Anyways, what do most people with an International Relations degree do with their life? What kind of careers do they have?

Me: I want to major in International Relations!!!!
Mom: What career would you get with that?
Me: Uhh...hmm...something..international?

Public Relations
Possibly Int'l business-try double majoring with econ/business.
Foreign Service-Really hard to get into.
Law school->lawyer...International law?
Get MBA->investment banker
Get MA in journalism-> international journalist???
Or if nothing works out, get PhD->Academia.

You should consider international business or international finance as well. It's also very relevant to foreign affairs, and it's quite interesting as well.

Well you're lucky your conversation went that way.
This is my conversation with my mom.
Me: I want to major business or econ.
Mom: Why? What would you do with that?
Me: Corporate lawyer, investment banker, stockbroker, etc. there are tons of options (named few more)
Mom: But I want you to be a doctor!!!
Me: I hate science.
Mom: There's discrimination in finance jobs. And law school doesn't guarentee anything. Bar exam, blahblah....(stopped listening)
Me in my thoughts: Neither does med school. You have to pass the licensing test, and I'm sure that's a lot easier than the CPA, the Bar, NASD series 7,63,65.

Sorry. correction.
You have to pass the licensing test, and I'm sure that's a lot HARDER than the CPA, the Bar, NASD series 7,63,65.
