What to do in UT Austin?

I got denied from my major of Computer Science at UT and it was the only school I applied to. I really want to go to UT and study CS there so what all would I need to do to internally transfer? Also how fast would that process take? I know it isn’t easy but this is what I really want to do, I believe I can maintain a high GPA and I intend to build up my resume with CS certifications and projects.

Also if internally transferring doesn’t work, will I be able to transfer to another University with any credits I got at UT so my time at UT isn’t a complete waste?

One other thing, will I be able to take any CS courses of any kind or be able to interact with any CS professors or groups if I have to be undergraduate studies undeclared for a while until I try to transfer?

I have so many questions . . . :-S

What major did you get accepted into?

Well my first choice was CS and my second choice was EE. I don’t think I got into either, when I checked the MyStatus, it said for me to pick from the list of available majors. None on the list seemed very interesting so I think I’m just going to choose Undergraduate Studies, Undeclared

I do not think that you can take CS classes but you could take the first year pre-req classes which normally mean calculus, physics and some of the other general requirements and try to transfer after the first year. Keep a very high GPA and if it doesn’t work, other universities will accept those credits. I would also think you could join CS clubs - do hackathons and things like that. I would not think that they would require you to be a CS student but just having an interest.
