What to do to get into Wisconsin

Hello folks! I'm currently a junior who's starting to focus on the ACT and college, specifically in the Midwest. I like Wisconsin the most, and people in my school often apply there. I live in Minnesota, so it's easier to get in due to the agreement with Wisconsin. I want to see how I will fit in with these stats:
3.77 W (3.70 UW). It could go down a bit this trimester though 😬
26 ACT ( Took it the first time. I should do better on February if I study hard.)
Planning on 4 extra curriculars this year, and I have a position.
From a suburb of St Paul
African American
I've noticed that people in my area and Wisconsin are having an easier time getting accepted this year than last. Tell me what I could do so that I won't get deferred. Thanks!

I would try to raise your ACT scores and work on your GPA. Also try to have some more EC’s that really stand out.

I don’t know how easy it is to get into Wisconsin from your school, but I know you need around a 4.0 if your coming from mine (we don’t really have a relationship with the school though because I’m from MA.) How do your stats compare to other kids that have gone there from your school?

Chance me back?

Many of the kids in my school have over a 3.7 and its not rare to see people to have a gpa of over a 4.00

Hi,

I’m from Madison (really, really close to campus), and just about everyone from my high school (it’s the closest school to the university, proximity wise) applies. From what I have gauged in my years at the school, if you have above a 3.7 UW (my school doesn’t do weighted) and say a 28 ACT, and decent extracurriculars, you should be fine. Being African-American certainly doesn’t hurt, especially if you are male (from what I understand, the UW would like more African-American male students.) All in all, I would say if you raised your ACT to a 30, and kept your UW GPA above a 3.7, you should be all right.
