What to do to raise my grade by 170 by the Oct. SAT

First off I got an 1830 and I'm really disappointed. I wanted at least a 2000 so I want to know what you think I can do over the summer to get me over the hump.

CR 640
M 590
W 600

I really don't understand how I did so bad on the writing this time first off. I took prep courses already which raised my grade by about 150 points, but I really don't know what to do. What strategies did you all use on the Math and CR specifically or even the Writing? I'm so disappointed.

Hmm you can raise your math by 100-110. it's one the section that you can FULLY prepare for with writing coming in a close second about 40-50.

What do you think I should do for Math. I'm always going to be round 650 CR so I'm not too worried there.....I know not knowing some vocab cost me a higher score. If I had a better vocab I would have touching 700. You wouldn't happen to know which SAT IIs are better to take do you? Like the difference between Math I and Math II or is US History incredible hard. I'm pretty sure I'll be taking literature.

it all depends on if reallly want to increase your score and how hard you are willing to work to get it

I would suggest getting a book with practice SATs and answer explanations and then work with that :) that really helped me out

How were you before them anon? I took practices and everything. I remember originally getting something like 1670 and then I took practices a couple times and got this 1830.....still it isn't really what I want.

just do a ton of practice test, non chalant1. that should drastically improve your score.
the math stuff just repeats itself so the more yu do the better you'll get on the actual test.
the same goes for writing.

Non-Chalant1, I had about a 1600 before and then after i had a 1700 but I had done some self study on my own too though

I'm doing some study with practice tests and I'm getting up to 1900 :)
