what to do to transfer into Stern

Hi, I'm currently a freshman in a CC and am hoping to transfer to Stern as a Junior and I was wondering if anyone had some advise.

So in highschool I screwed up. I took my GED in the middle Sophomore year. The only extracurricular I had was being on the varsity wrestling team.

Since then I began cleaning myself up. I was an assistant manager at a candy store and now currently do marketing for an online business. I also am a ESL tutor at my community college and volunteer at the public library tutoring adults who wish to improve their English.
There are also two literary writing clubs I'm involved in and I'm a member of Phi Theta Kapa.

My GPA is a 3.7. I hope to make it a 3.8-3.9 by the time I transfer
I never took the SATs should I take them now or is it not required for Junior transfers?

Also would the fact that I moved out of my house at 16 and across the country at 17 with no parental assistance help my case?

FAFSA (financial aid) has strict rules to see if you qualify as an individual on your own. Check them out to see if you qualify (very hard to do).

I suppose it is doable to transfer into Stern from a community college, but I’m guessing it will be a tough road to take. No offense but doing really well at a community college is one thing; doing well at Stern another.

You will also need to see if your cc credits will be accepted at Stern.

Good Luck.
