What to do when it comes to courses...

Hi, College Confidential community, I was just wondering if I should take AP Calc BC (basically Calc 1 and 2 combined) senior year or if I should go ahead and take Calc 1 at the community college over the summer after junior year. One of the pros of taking Calc 1 over the summer is that I'll be able to take one extra math class during high school (probably Calc 3). One of the cons is that I won't be able to participate in any of the summer programs that are apparently held in high regard. What are your thoughts?

take BC and do a summer program.

Could you elaborate on that at all?

If the summer program is expensive, it’s not held in high regard (it doesn’t mean you’re meritorious, it just means you’re privileged) and you should do the extra math.
If it’s free and selective, do the program.

You do realize that even programs like SSP are expensive, right?
