OK, so I filled out my D's FAFSA for the first 6 schools on Jan. 6th (processing date Jan. 8th) then filled out a correction for the next set of schools (processing date Jan. 9th). Syracuse U. is one of the first 6.

Profile was completed Jan. 13th for the 3 Profile Schools.

Today, Syracuse sent an email link where I could access the status of my Fin. Aid. app. It states the Profile was complete, but not FAFSA.

I called the FAFSA's toll-free line today, and "Jim" states everything was done correctly and Syracuse should have not problem access my D's FAFSA.

Should I take any action? I was going to send a copy of the SAR to Syracuse showing them that they could access the information now...but I'm worried about the annoyance factor.

(BTW, they do have a blurb on the Syracuse Admissions website that they're behind updating info...but not on the FA website.)

The priority deadline is Feb. 1...I did send an emai today; not to anyone specifically, just to the general email address...gave them the her SSN, the transaction and DRN. I'm not expecting a response, though.

At least the FAFSA guy gave me piece of mind, so I'll be able to sleep tonight.

Due to software upgrades the FAFSAs are not able to be loaded into our system until early February. As long as the Student Aid Report (SAR) indicates Syracuse University you do not need to worry. Check FA Portfolio after February 1, 2007 to see if Syracuse University received your FAFSA.

^ Yeah, I keep getting that same message from schools when I inquire about FAFSA. (Some are telling me alter than Feb 1.) So WHY did I hurry to get that filled out again???

Once again this, Administration, can't do things right. The paper version is different from the online version. With the online version being at fault.

Weenie, I checked w/ alma mater as well...even though they've also already downloaded the Profile, they actually do have...get this... a MESSAGE ON THE WEBSITE that states "(We) will not download the FAFSA until late January"

Why can't all of the schools say this? Or are they trying to drive everybody nuts? :p
