To add to @bopper’s list:

15 Check your work, especially on tests and quizzes. It can make the difference between an A and a B.

16 Do any and all extra credit problems, whether you need extra credit or not.

17 Learn from your mistakes. When something is marked wrong, redo the problem and make sure you understand it. Math teachers often go over quizzes and tests in class. Pay attention during this time, especially to the problems or questions you got wrong. If you don't understand what you did wrong, ask. Chances are someone else in the class is wondering why they did it wrong too. Another reason to look over wrong answers carefully: the teacher's answer key may be wrong more often than you'd expect, especially if they're giving a test or quiz right out of a published teacher's companion guide to the textbook the kids are using. DD's entire class got a test question marked wrong a few years back when the answer key incorrectly pegged earthquakes as a cause of lava, not volcanos. There were 2-3 questions the answer key had wrong on just that one test, yet the parental grapevine confirmed that teacher used that same test and same incorrect answer key at least three years in a row. I guess as each class moved on to the next chapter, correcting the old one slipped her mind.

18 (Related to #17) If comments on a term paper or essay seem vague or unclear to you, schedule time with the teacher when you can ask him or her to be more specific; ask exactly where and why you fell short if you don't already understand. If you accept your grade and move on, you miss the chance to improve in the future.

19 Attend remedial if you have one

20 Don't buy or ask others to do your homework for you. You'll get nothing out of it.

21 Download Grammarly. It helps me write better and fixes common errors

22 Don't take pictures of notes and never look at them again

23 Ask questions and participate in class

3 things that really helped me this year:

  1. Quizlet: use this for anything memorization based (trig derivatives, vocal words, biology terms, whap events)
  2. If you are able to, force yourself to sit in the front. This really helped me in one particular class that I was struggling with. It forced me to concentrate on what the teacher was talking about and I was more likely to participate in class discussions and answer questions when I sat in the front. Sounds weird and too good to be true, but it worked for me.
  3. For classes with a standardized test (Example: AP World History) at the end, create a one-month study plan for the test towards the end of the year one or two months before the day of the test. Some people start studying earlier, but to each their own.

Ours schools Teachers syllabus only states what we are Learning, not when anything is due. Teachers office hours our during our other classes. They stay after school till 3:30 but most of them spend that time hoaxing in the teachers lounge. Last time I asked a teacher what mistakes I need to avoid to do good in that class the teacher said “you have to make the mistakes yourself that’s how you improve. I don’t need to help you make an A it’s your responsibility to figure out how to Make an A” and this is the attitude of most of my teachers.

Does your teacher have a website that shows assignments?
Can you make appointments for extra help if you need it?

Always do extra work, meet with your teacher often and try/ask questions whenever possible!

Yes, I agree. I also agree that in high school the best way to get better is to let the teacher know that you do want to do better. That way, your teacher can help you out, which is the best thing when she is the teacher. It will help you not fail (like i almost did in french).

High School is the best way to learn something new. In my opinion you should go to your school and get read for the exams, you can get more information from squatuniversity. Remember, if you want to get your dream job then go to school and learn some related skills according to your dream job.
