What to do with a B.S. in Geography?

So, I am now officially done with my first year of college and a lot has changed from when I first started. I originally was going to try for a B.S. in Meteorology, but the math proved to be too demanding so I switched to a B.S. in Geography early this semester since the two are in the same department and I already had Geography credits. Now the problem is I have no idea what I will do with this degree, honestly I am pretty clueless...people ask me and I just tell them I don't know.

The one thing I have going for me is that the Geography degree I am working towards is definitely a science based degree, it is not your stereotypical liberal arts degree in geography. Sure there are some classes like human geography, tourist systems etc. but the majority of this degree is rooted in science...courses like remote sensing, spatial systems, GIS, cartography, meteorology and others are all degree requirements. The problem is, I feel most people looking at a degree in geography think of the stereotypical LAC type degree when mine is more of a technical degree. I'm not sure what I will do with it, I am double minoring in emergency management and computer security...and part of me feels that those have more job prospects then my major. What do you guys think, any advice here?

With that type of background and the fact that you are also majoring in computer security, it might be a natural fit for you to look for government work, especially the security and intelligence agencies like NSA, CIA etc.

I’m not sure what the hiring there is like now, but they were always looking for geography backgrounds some years ago.

If that fits your personality that might be a possibility.

What is up OP. Do you still have questions regarding this post? If so let me know.
