What to do with an English major.

...So I'm looking for a school with a strong English department. I'm particuarily interested in Creative Writing.

Does anyone know a school that would fit my SAT scores (720 CR, 700 writing, 570 math)?

I'm also incredibly unfocused so I need a place with lots of options.

Also, what's a practical career (besides journalism or teacher) to go on to after getting a degree in English?

If it helps, I'm looking at Bard, Ithaca, and University of Hartford.
Does anyone know anything about those?

Sitting alone.

You could write some scripts for Fred Thompson.

My Aunt majored in English && is now the CEO of a chapter of the Red Cross.

Business is always an option... :)

I based my college search from this list, The Best of the Best

It's for the MFA though, but I assumed these schools might be supportive to their undergrads as well.

I'm applying (as transfer) to Bard, Wake Forest and FSU. I'm looking at some LACs too.

As for careers, I always hear advertising and marketing in English freshman seminar.

Thanks everyone :)

FSU: The English Department at Florida State University - Creative Writing

I found a link at "Poets&Writers" website. It has links to universities and colleges with writing programs. The list is just colleges that have a program. From there I linked to colleges that begin to fit : area size etc.
I know of at least two major accounting firms that hire english majors just to edit and develop the Firms outside correspondence. Cuz everyone knows accountants cant spell with thier left brain.
