My D was accepted EA to 4-5 schools but now has higher SAT scores then when the decision was made. Her 3rd SAT brought her out of the 1200's to a 1320. She did recieve some scholarships but the cutoff for many is 1300 so she probably would have done a little better if they had her higher scores. Her GPA will also be going up. This will help her April decision schools but should she still send the new scores to the schools where she is already accepted or is it a mute point now? What have others done.

It depends on the school, i guess. The college i'm probably going to, purdue, allows you to send in new scores and whatnot, but you have to call or e-mail the admissions office and request to be re-evaluated for admissions or scholarship.

Arizonamom - Congrats to your daughter for bringing up those scores! I would send the new scores to each of the schools, even the ones she's already been accepted to. A note to admissions couldn't hurt either - just have it keep it in the "thought you'd like to know" tone. It may not bring more money, but you never know! Has she now thought of adding any schools to her list? Pepperdine sure will like those scores. Good luck to her - keep us up to date about what happens.

When DS's SAT scores went up (after some of his rolling admit acceptances) he sent the adcoms notes asking that his merit aid be reconsidered with the new SAT scores. In one case, he received a Presidential Scholarship in addition to the music merit aid he had received. It's well worth the 37 cents of postage.

I would recommend sending the SAT scores again.

Thank you all. I will have her send a note-would an e-mail suffice? Thank Carolyn. She finally mailed out her last app last night with that one more essay! Yeah. Now the waiting , and visiting begins!
