What to do with one or more Foreign Languages?

What can I do with foreign languages? What should I pair the degree with?

… anything?

Business, maybe. International policy. Non-profit management. Global corporations, government agencies, and international non-profits (NGOs) all need employees willing to learn local languages and immerse themselves in those cultures. You’ll probably need to be willing to relocate, perhaps frequently, for the first 10 years or so.

Teaching, medicine, law, journalism…you name it - any job in which you have to interact extensively with a population that is non-English speaking, or any job where you will spend a significant part of your career overseas either working or living.

Just keep in mind that languages by themselves are not enough: Most of the educated world outside of the US speaks multiple languages. 3-4 is not unusual. You need to pair that skill with others.
