What to do?!

Okay so heres what happened. My parents have a fairly good income and people told me i would not receive any financial aid so i clicked "i will not be applying for aid" on the common app website. However now i am hearing that you should always apply for aid and i am really stressing out because i think i might need it. Can i still apply???
Any help would be appreciated!

Apply for aid if you will need it.

So long as you are eligible (U.S. citizen or legal resident), you can always get an unsubsidized loan regardless of income or what you told the college about needing aid. The maximum unsub. loan for a freshman is $5,500.

If you think you need more than that, why don’t you start by running the net price calculators on the financial aid websites for the colleges you are applying to? Although the results are an approximation only, they will give you some idea of whether or not you might qualify for additional assistance (above and beyond the federal unsubsidized loan) at each school.

If it looks like you will qualify, then you need to do two things:

(1) Notify the schools that you will be applying for aid, and
(2) Follow all the instructions at each school for filing the application for aid.

At some schools, if you say you don’t need aid when you apply, then that’s it - you won’t be allowed to apply later (other than for the federal unsubsidized loan). So, if you decide you want to apply for aid, notify each of the schools promptly.

And you can apply for aid at Schools A and B, but not Schools C & D. That’s your decision.
