So it’s down to Penn (CAS) and Umich (LSA)…
I was accepted into the Benjamin Franklin Scholars Program, as well as the Roy Vagelos Scholars in Life Sciences program at Penn. These and the $20,000/year in grants offered make Penn quite enticing, but still a heavy financial burden.

Umich on the other hand, offered me over $10k/year (in-state LSA scholarship, as well as some other grants), and accepted me into both the Honors program and the Preferred Admissions pharmacy program.

I might major in biology or something on the pre-med track, but I’m more undecided right now.

Any thoughts, opinions, advice would be greatly appreciated

I'd have to go with Penn. Yes, it might be a heavy finanical burden, but it would definitely pay off in the future. My accouting teacher would always say that there are three things you should go in debt for: college, a house, and.....something else I forget. But she said this because they're investments that don't go away. You won't lose your education or degree. If you're considering biology or pre-med, Penn is an excellent place for that with a 80%+ acceptance to med schools. The national average is about 50%. And you mentioned that you were accepted into the Vagelos Scholars Program, which would include Penn's excellent scientic resources with it's world renowed business school. What more could someone ask for? So even though it may be a little pricey, just remember that schooling is forever and debts can be paid back.
