Hello,
I recently graduated from a community college and transferred to a private catholic school that gave me a huge discount on tuition. In the last couple of months it has been decided that I need to move out of my parents home. I am a Psychology major and my program through my new school was a Partnership so I was actually able to keep attending the same school.
I have decided after the Spring Semester not to return to the new school. My plan had been to transfer to a local university and move there, but due to COVID-19 I am hesitant on moving out on my own this year. My new plan is to take the rest of the year off and work. That way I can save money and return in the Spring at the school of my choosing.
I guess where I am stuck at is what to do now? Is taking a semester off actually a good idea. I am possibly a bit over worked as I have been going to school full time and working two jobs the past two years. I would also like to fatten my savings up some since I am moving out for the first time with no intentions of moving back in. At this point I have not taken any students loan out, but I will now need to since I need to pay rent and I will be paying a higher tuition.
I have been looking at local universities and also some in the Pittsburgh area since I am close. My GPA is currently a 3.5. Now that I am nixing my plan to be as frugal I am considering applying to some of my more pricey dream schools, but I am not sure if that is realistic. I have been considering to move out of state as well.
I am in need of guidance and now sure what my next move should be.
Please help if you have any suggestions. Thank you!
