What to do.

Hello everyone.

I am a High School Junior who has recently ran into investment banking in career/college researching.

Only I am finding very foggy information on what you need to do to get into investment banking.

Where can I find some real information on I Banking? I've found contradicting information everywhere. Do you have to be at a top target undergraduate school? Or is that graduate only?

I keep running across all the stuff about needing to be at a target school and all. Only what does this mean?
J.P. Morgan - Campus Schedule
J P Morgan does a undergraduate campus visit to a school like DePaul and other schools that are never mentioned as target schools. What am I supposed to infer out of that?

I have taken 1-2 honors courses per year in HS (Which was the maximum possible for me to take.), I have a very low 3.8 unweighted GPA and a low 3.9 weighted, a couple clubs and haven't taken the ACT yet. I know my teachers well and should get great recs if that means anything. With stats like these is there any school in my range that could land me some I-Banking internships and a job? What hope do I and others like me have?

Is a possible path going to a non target undergraduate, doing great there, getting the best banking job you can for a couple of years, and then getting a graduate at a top MBA and then break into I-banking? Or will all of this crumble without going to a great undergraduate school? Any good sites with great information on getting into I-Banking?

Any help, advice, and general information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading too.

Keep in mind that those schools might be "targets", but not necessarily IB or S&T or IMD

JP Morgan and all the other banks have jobs ranging from administrative assistants to in house accountants to security guards. They recruit for different jobs at different schools.

Your both right on that. Looking at the sidebar reveals it all. I was linked to campus schedules from the investment banking section, but there is no real direct correlation between IB and that specific schedule visit.

What about the idea of getting into a top MBA? Are there any undergraduate schools in my range that are targets or close to it? What hope is there for someone like me?
