What to do?

I am planning on attending Ohio State this fall everything was going well but my father was recently diagnosed with cancer and our family may lose our primary wage temporarily or god forbid permanently.

Even though I am going on a scholarship I still have around 10k for living and tuition expenses, what actions should I take so I don't run up the debt on my family.

Thanks

I’m sorry to hear about your dad’s cancer diagnosis. I hope that his treatment is successful. If you do have financial issues because of loss of income and/or rising medical costs, contact Ohio State financial aid and discuss this with them.

It sounds as if you haven’t taken any student loans. If you filed FAFSA then you’re eligible for Stafford loans which are in your name. I agree with thumper that the financial aid office is your best resource if he does have to leave his job to take care of his health.
