Is this ok? Or should I add something else? Also, any tips on having a roommate in general?

Hi my name is Bel. Ill be your roommate. I just thought Id introduce myself. You can also text me if youre comfortable. My number is ()-****. Looking forward to hearing from you! ☺

I’d add, “Do you want to discuss what to bring or move in details?” Maybe also ask about where they’re from or give a bit of personal information about yourself.

Our dorms are supplied with a mini fridge. Only some are supplied with microwaves. So idk if I should ask her what we should bring if the main things that we will have to share are already being supplied.

I think that is fine. I wouldn’t do what whenhen suggested until like 3 messages later. Give her breathing room to response first and then let the convo lead to where it should (what time you sleep, room temperature, showering, etc.

This is taken from a previous thread:
"Just be super casual.

“Hey, Tim! I’m Mike and I’ll be your roommate this year. Or at least I think so…there are so many Tim’s on Facebook. Anyway, I’m from Middle of Nowhere and like long walks on the beach and kissing my cousin. Look forward to getting to know you!”

I was pretty straight forward. Evidently, his email was incorrect, so I added him on facebook and private messaged him. I just introduced myself, briefly talked about myself, and listed the dorm supplies I had. I thought he would think I was a creeper by adding him on facebook, but it worked out!
