Im a prospective student and am considering Richmond as my top choice. I received a very generous financial aid award for my first year without any scholarships. However, I am afraid that the amount of grants I have now will decrease throughout my years at the university. If my grants decrease by a lot I would not be able to afford it. Does anyone have any insight on the possibility of this happening?
That was not our experience with our two Spiders. As long as you don’t have any big shifts in income or situation, your aid should stay the same. If your family makes less, your aid will increase and if they make more, the aid with decrease. They aren’t a “bait and switch” school that would lure you in with a good price year one and jack up the cost the next.
The cost could potentially go down too. Our eldest picked up two endowed scholarships years 2, 3 and 4 which replaced her grants and took off the “self-help” portion. Dropped our overall costs
By several thousand. Hoping current freshman does the same.
