What to expect for alumni representative interview?

Based on the emails from Swarthmore, I am a little confused about what is to be expected for the interview. One email says “Interviews are not required for your application; however, they are a great opportunity to learn more about Swarthmore and to offer our Admissions Committee additional insight into your educational journey.” Am I answering questions about myself or asking them questions about Swarthmore? Both?

Any recommendations on how to prep besides re-reading my essays and brushing up on the Swarthmore website?

I can’t comment specifically about Swat but in general - come prepared to answer why you applied to the school. Be as specific as possible.

Come equipped with questions about the school that isn’t easily found online. If you are meeting with an alumni, you can ask specific questions about their experience.

Lots of interviews will ask questions about what your favorite class or EC was in HS, what activities you want to continue in college, etc…

Usually alumni interviews are very low key so don’t stress and just be yourself!
