What to get teachers that wrote recs?

What do you get teachers that wrote you recommendations or gave you scholarships? I wanna give my teachers a nice token of appreciation.

Gift certificates, cards, drugs, etc.

gift certificates to what places in particular? i don’t want it to seem like im paying them off or something hahah

a sincere thank you note. I would not get them “things”.

Starbucks?

Gift certificates to restaurants seem to be best.

I pay attention to what they drink in class. One of my teachers really likes Jamba Juice, so I got her a Jamba gift card, box of chocolates, and nice card (with thoughtful message inside) for Christmas.

^ There are NO Jamba Juices near me (which is surprising, as I live in the metropolitan area of a large city)!

Now that I think of it, I don’t really know what I’ll get the teacher who’ll write my rec…she’s my physics teacher, she’s young…but kind of clueless. Like I would get her a gift card to the mall or something, but I seriously doubt she goes shopping. Also, she doesn’t seem like the type to get caught up in trendy restaurants/coffee houses. Any suggestions?

I’m not sure what to give to my teachers since they’re an eclectic bunch, but is it best to give them a thank you right after they give you the letter or after you get admitted to a college?

idk lol i got admitted into a summer program so im doing it now. so gift cards are good? mmm okay and how much is a good amount?

…$20? I wouldn’t say any more than $25, but no less than $15

@puggly Drugs, haha.

Gift cards are cool, for restaurants or coffee of music or books. Fancy pens. I know some of my teachers would kill for a pack of Expo dry erase markers that actually work, lol. Maybe something like that, for the classroom.

I would only write a thank you note if it were for a summer program or anything else for my resume, but as a senior, to teachers who have written recs, I don’t think a gift card or a small token would be bad.

This is great! I’ve always kind of done it though.

bump10char… how much money to give?

I would make something, like baked good for them. Gift cards seem a bit impersonal, unless it’s to a place you know the teacher loves. I’d rather not get them anything than a meaningless gift card; it just seems strange.

I gave giftcards, and the amount depended on how much stuff they had to do for me…so people got different amounts. Generally, like $20-25 is probably good.

Also include a thank-you note of course.

lmao no money

Card that tells them the schools you got into. Hug and maybe there favorite candy or something from the schools gift shop like a pen And then a senior picture; but that is if you are really really really really close to the teacher, like I was mine.

I got my teachers Guess wallets, they liked them lol

People really give money to their teachers??? That seems so ridiculous. I can only imagine writing them a nice letter and thanking them in person.

A small potted plant could be nice.
