So, in a few weeks, me, my parents, and a close friend are going to Northern California to look at colleges. I was just wondering what I should be looking for and what questions I should be asking while there. And I really want to have a Biology or Humanities major and a music or visual arts minor. I have tours arranged at Davis and Stanford. But at Berkeley, Santa Clara, Santa Barbara, and SLO, we are just going to walk around the campuses and meet with student representatives. I just need some questions to ask so that I get a better idea of which school would be better for me. Thanks!

Some generic questions:
What are the class sizes like? How does that affect learning?
What are the dorms like? How does rooming work? Were you okay with your on-campus living experience? Other housing options (ie Greek if you’re into that)
How is the food? Dining options?
FINANCIAL AID
What research opportunities are available for students in _____ (field)? Internship opportunities off campus that your school assists with? Jobs?
How are the professor to student relations? Do you find your professors helpful? How many classes are not taught by professors but rather by grad students?

and maybe most importantly…
why did you choose this school?

get more ideas from this maybe?

Is it hard to get the classes you want?
Are there campus jobs available for students without work-study?
What happens on the weekends? Do most students go home or stay on campus?
What’s your least favorite thing about this school?
