I’m getting ready to give my teachers the forms they need to write their recommendations. I’m unsure about some things though.

Stanford asks for recommendations to be sent out in 9 x 12" envelopes. However, I do not know what the other schools I’m applying to require. Does anybody know what USC, UPENN, Columbia, and Princeton ask for?

What do I put down for the return address on each envelope?

Do the recommendations have to be postmarked or received by the deadline for Stanford, UPENN, and USC?

Check their websites. If they don't specify, you can use any envelope size. (Most schools don't care; Stanford is the only one I know of that does.)

Teacher's name, c/o high school address.

for 99% of schools, it is a postmarked date. I can't guarantee you this though, so look on the school website. If they don't specify, then it is a postmarked date.

6 by 9 envelopes is what D's high school counselor requested. Put the name of the teacher or counselor with school address on the return address.
