I’m majoring in biomedical sciences and I had heard that graduate schools like JHU-SAIS would welcome hard science degrees in the field so long as interests are genuine as demonstrated by internships, essays, and etc. However, I’m not sure if I’d be able to afford graduate school immediately after undergrad, so I was wondering if public policy oriented jobs at think tanks, gov’t, etc. welcome hard science majors even if the majors do not necessarily have immediate relevance to the job itself (e.g. counter terrorism for a biomed major with some public policy internships).
Oh I forgot something. I’m going to a state school that isn’t a flagship–top 150-170 range according to USNWR. Definitely not a school many would know a lot about if they were from another side of the country.
I hope to maintain a 3.8+ GPA, which I’m on track for even with organic chemistry I, two upper level sciences, and physics 2 this semester.
