What to major in to do research in Alternative Engineering?

hello CC'ers,

i am currently an Econ major, however I seem to have fallen in love with sciences and maths and the things I never knew I could do wih them when I was in high school. So my question is, what arm of sciences should I take to go develop better ways to source energy and enhance the ones already in place? Also, I would just like to build stuff, planes, cars, robots, just stuff. Sciences are just so cool, and I never realised this when i was in high school. I an going to be a sophomore in September and am hoping to double major in Econ and said branch of sciences. (don't worry, I consistently take 7 courses a semester, so workload is really not a problem for me). So what should I major in that would help me with this? Any answers are greatly appreciated as usual

Thank you :)

Engineering: civil, electrical, mechanical, chemical, materials, and nuclear are all involved in energy generation, transmission, and use, as well as designing planes, cars, robots, etc…
