What to major in?

Hey, I'm an incoming freshman to Rutgers SAS Honors! I know it's a bit too early to stress over what to major in, but I don't know what to do. I'm going to do Pre-Med (aiming for physician's assistant afterward) and I really want to minor in Cinema Studies. I know major shouldn't really matter if I'm doing pre-med, but I really want something substantial that can be beneficial if I ever drop pre-med.

I was thinking biological sciences but I was told you can't minor with that and I REALLY want to do something film related (I was thinking of majoring in that but Rutgers doesn't have something like that and I didn't think a degree in film would help me much). Anyone have any ideas? Is there a way to consult someone so that you can major in biological sciences while minoring?

And anyone in the honors program, can you give me some more info on it? I know it's really awesome but I would love some more info on all the advantages and opportunities offered. It was the reason I leaned toward Rutgers in the end! :D

Sorry this is so long, but am I was really stressing because I didn't want to feel that I made the wrong choice by choosing Rutgers (I'm very indecisive ): ) Any advice would be appreciative. Thanks!

Umm, you don’t have to declare till like the end of your sophomore year so I’d just pick the classes you want and worry if they fit into a major minor later. Take like 3 from the bio track a film class and one of the requirements for a few semesters. If you want some substantial in case the medicine doesn’t work out I’d recommend chem as our chem department is surprisingly good.

I’m in the honors program, what do you want to know? Generally honors classes are better than their regular counter parts and go more in depth into the material usually with better professors (in the more published in the field sense). Also you get room with a bunch of academically oriented people which you may or may not have gotten in regular. Umm what else? The requirements are kind of ***** but that may just be me (I don’t like foreign lang.)… oh and the advisers give you more attention
