What to make of this?

<p>Okay so I am trying to convince my school to let me take two sciences...I emailed the teachers who teach the classes. One of them (the AP Bio teacher) talked to my current science teacher (Pre AP Chem) and today I was trying to find my principal to get approval to take AP Environmental...she was out of the office and when I was walk out someone called my name "Wesley!"</p>

<p>It was my Pre AP Chem teacher. He said he talked to her (the AP Bio teacher) and I can take it. So this is what happened his exact words!</p>

<p>"I told her that you are smart, but you don't do your homework....Your reputation precedes you..."</p>

<p>Yeah one thing FREAKED me out EXTREMELY!!! </p>

<p>What should I make of this? OTHER than start doing my homework...</p>

<p>To be fair, APES is a joke from what I’ve heard. I hated AP Bio though, and I loved regular Bio. AP Chem would have been the way to go, the class is a good challenge but involves actual calculations and applications rather than pure memorization.</p>

<p>On topic: If a teacher’s telling you that to your face, then you probably have a pretty serious problem with homework. Don’t expect your AP Bio teacher to give you any slack for late assignments since she already knows. The best thing you can do is to do you HW (JHU likes kids that do HW…) and surprise her next year.</p>

<p>And to make it even worse this is not the first time a teacher has told me something like this…well kinda we were talking about my grade…so actually not really. ANYWAY I has a thought that I am one of the “talks” of the 10th grade horizontal (when all the teachers get together and talk about the 10th graders and pick how gets what award). :confused: I hate people who actually realize my potential…lol anyway I know what I am going to be doing all weekend…</p>

<p>If multiple teachers have come to you about it, then do something about it.</p>

<p>I am doing homework right now (which is like REALLY HARD! Well not like hard as in lack of understanding as in it takes FOREVER!)</p>

<p>Anyway his words just keep going through my head and I want to know what he really meant by it…because I was talking to my friends and they were like all shocked and stuff as in teachers shouldn’t say that unless it is really big, but teachers have done that to me for like EVER…</p>

<p>@MIT Define “uninvolved”? During his class sure b/c you only speak when you don’t get something, which is rare for me and when I do I don’t ask him because I don’t like him lol</p>

<p>When you’re in class, and there is general class discussion, do you participate or sit back( I know this Pre AP Chem),</p>

<p>when it comes to work, are you generally prompt in turning it in?</p>

<p>You just gotta get some better HW strategies man. Don’t do it all at once or you’ll burn yourself out.</p>

<p>For example, I got the first 3 paragraphs of my essay done yesterday and today, and i’ll get the last 2 done tomorrow. This way it’ll take me about 15-20 mins. a day instead of 1-1.5 hrs on Sunday night.</p>

<p>@MIT Our class discussions are about how someone in the class just did something funny/stupid or having the people who don’t understand solve problems… so no I don’t…</p>

<p>@BigKev Yeah I do need better HW strategies (well first to make some lol). But no your’s will not work for me one of two things would happen 1. I would lose my train of thought when I come back to it 2. I will feel like I can put it off more and more because I have already done some of it</p>
