I'm heading out to Annapolis on June 6 for Session 2 of NASS. I have my "what-to-bring-list" that the academy mailed to me, but am wondering whether anyone has tips on what to bring/not bring, whether on the list or no. Also, what should belongings be packed in: a suitcase or something like a duffel bag that I can carry on my flight?
Thank you in advance!

My son is at Session 1. We packed everything on the list and threw in a pair of pants in case it was chilly. Given the amount of stuff he had it was not practical to fit it all in a carryon bag so he checked a duffel bag. It sounded like the process arriving at BWI was well-orchestrated. Also my son had fun running into other NASS attendees when he was changing planes at Detroit. There were about a half dozen on his flight to BWI. Good luck and have fun learning about USNA!

Trying to remember from 3 summers ago.
Trash bags for the wet smelly clothes from sea trials.

Febreze for your smelly clothes.

Lots of socks.

toss in a pillow-
they are supposed to give you one, but they may not.

also, if you have the room, a SMALL fan is a good thing- the rooms get stuffy, and while the A/C “may” be running in some wings, it may not be “on” in all, and even if it is “on,” you are going to have to stand there every 15 minutes rubbing that wall plate to keep it on all night- (don’t ask- too long a story to explain)

running shoes
an extra pair of junkie sneakers for sea trials that you won’t mind “throwing out” afterwards!
bathing suit (ladies- make it a one-piece)- just in case
