Any good programs, info, notes, etc, I should have in my graphing calculator before the test starts? I'm mainly thinking of the math section, but anything that helps would be good.

Uncle Worm. It's a very fun game.

lol :)

no, but really.

i only needed it for addiction and multiplication so.....unless it's a subject test, you don't really need anything,.

Yes - You can try the SAT Operating System for the SAT I Math subsections.

your just cheating yourself:(

nbgdog, I guess. But my assumption is that EVERYONE does it (putting the stuff to help them). So why not? ;)

Thanks Programmer. I didn't even think of it till I came across this post!

I mean they give you all the formulas you need at the beginning of the section. I've never needed my calc expect for add/subtract/multiply/divide...and occasionally graphing something if I'm having trouble (BIG time waster!).

But I agree with iin77, perhaps a good game for if you finish a section early. :)

i agree with nbgdog.

all you need is PHOENIX!

I'm having trouble installing the SATOS on my 84+silver edition. I did the set archive thing and sent to device. is that all i have to do? also, how do you run the operating system?

What is Phoenix?

The most popular calculator game ever. And why would you need math programs? Everything is doable without the calculator, seems like you would be overcomplicating things.

not if you look at the program. SAVES A TON OF TIME

I guess then if you are running out of time they would help.. time has never been an issue though in my case. Just seems weird to me I dunno.

If you have successfully sent SATOS to your TI-84+, then all you have to do is hit the 'PRGM' button and select SATOS. Then hit 'enter' at the main calculator screen to run the software.

nbgdog, pianokat, buzzer11, Jimgotkp, and calgar ---

I am unsure as to how you came up with the idea that by using software, you are cheating yourself. Like I have said many times before, the software is designed to save time, so regardless of the fact that you already know how to solve the problem using equations by hand, the software allows you to quickly manipulate numbers and data to answer the question and move on. The SAT is all about time, so saving time whenever and wherever possible is very positive, if not essential.

Sometimes students feel that they do not need to save time in order to complete the Math sections because they are able to very quickly solve all of the problems by hand, and still have time left over to check their answers. However, most of the time, students would be very glad to be able to save some time on problems in order to complete the Math sections before time expires, and maybe be able to go back and check their answers. So many times students are not able to achieve the score they desire because they were unable to finish the section. For that reason, SAT_OS is very useful because it allows one to quickly make calculations that will allow one to answer the question and then move on to the next problem.

** If you feel that you don't need to save any time during SAT I Math subsections, then SAT_OS is not for you - it's that simple.

Is SAT OS useful for the SAT II - Math IIc as well?

Yes - The TI-89 version more so than the TI-83+ version. Also, I am developing a version specifically geared towards the SAT Math IIC test right now and it will be available by the end of June. This will allow all new users to become accustomed to the SAT_OS interface and layouts in time for the fall administrations of the SAT.

Cool. I only have the TI-83+...but it's still better than nothing I guess.

Thanks

I agree with you Programmer1324...software does save a lot of time and it makes you comfortable
