What to send if you are on the waitlist

I’m currently waitlisted at BC. My school runs on semester grades, so I have no new info to send BC. However, BC is my first choice, and I would attend if admitted. What should I send them if I have no new info.

Just tell them that you want to be considered for a spot if one opens up. I do not think further grades are considered. You already showed you are qualified to be admitted.

e-mail your BC admissions counselor now and tell them you’re still interested even though you’re on the waitlist. chances are you won’t hear back before may 1st so you should pay your deposit to another school, but in may, remind them again that even though you are technically committed to another school, you still want to come to BC and would choose it over whatever other school. from what i’ve heard, counselors really only want kids who they know will come, so if you can show your interest now and in may, you should be in a good spot.

Get another recommendation letter that will help you set apart. I was deferred during Early Action several years ago, and submitted a letter from my high school’s minister (a priest) who was my senior year religion teacher. My parents joke that his letter is what helped me get in during regular decision.

Incorrect, particularly if first semester showed several B’s. If the second semester shows all A’s, in the most rigorous courses, it can only be a plus (in contrast to your colleagues who got senioritis.

Definitely notify your regional adcom of your new grades. Or new test scores. Or senior awards. Use any good excuse to contact the adcom to continue to express your interest. (Good excuse = new material to send.0
