Against the advice of collegeconfidential, I took another standardized test after getting into college. I just received a ACT 32 composite score. 32 Math, 32 English, 36 Reading and 28 Science. This was not what I was expecting to get at all. Especially science. Compared to HS SAT score of 2050 it is barely an improvement. But the funny thing is in HS score breakdown was as follows, 750 Math, 650 english and writing. So an improvement in my worst two subscores but same in Mathematics. What should I send? The improvement is over a 6 year departure from HS so…
Also to note, this was the first time I’ve taken the ACT, and I’ve taken the SAT 3 times in HS. Any advice would be helpful. I was really assuming to getting a 34+, but totally underestimated the science section.
I think you should send your ACT score or both since they are comparable. Or maybe you can send ACT along with your SAT II if you took science subject tests to make up the low science score…
top 20, grades and essays are fine, but obviously its the standardized testing that is messing me up. I was shooting for a perfect score but stuff happens. I’ve heard students transfer with sat 2k from hs but…
Reply to Michelle,
they’re both comparable, but one was from HS and one is from post HS during college, i feel that would be extremely detrimental to the adcom what do you think?
Don’t overthink this. Just email the admissions offices, and ask whether or not they accept scores taken after you had begun your college studies. If they do, send all the scores. If they don’t, don’t send the newer ones.
